The reconstructed house in a large picturesque garden with its appearance and used brick cladding refers to the elements of houses in the Netherlands, which is the current owners homeland.
We designed the appropriate house for our clients with a fondness for Japanese gardens, whose architecture refers to Japanese houses. The house shape and the materials used create a bay of tranquillity in the rushed world.
However the investor didn't prefer a pitched roof, the regulations given for his plot did not offer him any choice. We tried to incorporate this roof type into a simple mass and thereby suppress it as much as possible to comply with the client's original wish.
The luxury house was designed as a reflection of the expressive hills of the Czech Central Highlands scattered across the surrounding landscape. Whether it is a wellness, an atelier or the house itself, every roof on this specious plot represents a mountain.
The house is divided into two identical parts connected with an entrance link from the street side. The garden terrace then forms an open atrium with dining table and a space for swimming-pool with views of the city.
Unconventionally, the house was designed as an extension to the existing garage located in the garden with many mature trees, which have been preserved to the maximum extent. The inner atrium and facade timber cladding emphasize the original spirit of the garden.
During the initial meeting the client shared with us that the best view of the surroundings is from the chimney. Therefore designing a roof terrace as a part of the refurbishment was put at the centre of the client’s brief.
The house rising from a slope above surrounding landscape was solved in contemporary Tuscan style. Becoming stone cladding combined with green roof and private atrium with the contribution the Nový Jičín highland views give the house the remarkable spirit.
